The Pale King by David Foster Wallace is truly, absolutely great. Sometimes it is so boring (like he wanted it to be) that it makes me fall asleep. So I was very happy to learn that RONGWRONG is staging a reading of The Pale King. They wrote an email saying: “The 21st of February 2012 would have marked the 50th birthday of a much loved author, David Foster Wallace (1962-2008). We want to remember him and his words via the physical exhaustion of a non stop complete reading of his last unfinished book ‘The Pale King’. Inspired by the reading initiated by writer Sandro Veronese in Rome, this marathon welcomes writers, artists and book lovers to come over, read out loud and shift hours ; everybody is welcome to join us and participate, through days and nights, from Monday the 20th until the last line is read. The estimated time of the reading is 35 hours. Please note that the reading will start at 6pm on Monday the 20th, but you can join later through the night!” Let’s go!
